Supplement to Travel Trade

Your clients are stepping into a world where you do not need a wallet at the super-luxurious Grand Lido Resort and Spa in Negril, Jamaica. Every desire is flawlessly fulfilled. The day is filled with water-skiing, snorkeling and often times quiet moments by the pool enjoying a good book. Evenings begin with outstanding entertainment followed by sumptuous cuisine and fine liqueurs that rekindle the palate’s desire to indulge to excess.
Grand Lido Negril offers five different full service restaurants serving a world of flavors. An outstanding culinary staff prepares Italian, Japanese and Jamaican dishes. The crème de le crème is undoubtedly Piacere, providing the finest French dishes in one of the only five star rated restaurants in the Caribbean.
For those with an active lifestyle, there’s a multitude of options. Sailing, tennis and golf are included when you book a client to this resort. There are two swimming pools on property with one designated as clothing optional for those that despise tan lines. Grand Lido Negril boasts one of the finest beaches in the world and offers a clothing optional section to that as well. Bryan Drew, General Manager of the resort, also told us all about the beach being rated in the top six in the world by the Travel Channel.
Pure pampering is promised, then delivered at the resort’s à la carte spa. Manicures and pedicures are included with your client’s Super-Inclusive price, but new this year is a spa credit of up to $350 per room. “We’re very excited about this new promotion and feel that it elevates the Grand Lido resorts above our competitors as a truly all-inclusive brand,” said Drew. For qualified bookings that travel in 2006, each room will receive a spa credit of $150 to $350 depending on number of nights and room category booked. “The initial response has been tremendous and we’re seeing quite a bit of excitement from the agent community, who all comment that this credit is definitely seen as a value added item when selling the Grand Lido brand to their clients,” added Drew.
When your guests are ready to retire for the evening, they will find the ultimate in luxury in the resort’s 210 junior suites and full suites, all featuring spectacular beachfront, ocean and garden views.
There are amenities to meet every need — air conditioning, satellite TV, direct dial telephone, CD player, coffeemaker, hair dryer, ceiling fan, safe deposit box, and iron and ironing board, as well as complimentary, well-stocked wet bars.
The eight-headed shower for two and in-room Jacuzzi especially draw raves from clients, Drew said.
A staff of 400 tenured professionals is there to attend to guests’ every whim. And the resort’s 22.5 acres assures that they will never have to rub elbows with other travelers if they don’t want to.
Your clients who are getting married or renewing their vows at the resort find extraordinary elegance at every turn. Conde Nast recently rated Jamaica as the number one spot for weddings. Grand Lido Negril is truly Super-Inclusive. Your client’s wedding is also included in the price although government fees are additional.
Who are the best sales prospects for this all-star resort? Drew said the resort attracts seasoned travelers in their early 30s to mid-60s who take multiple vacations a year.
And once they sample everything that the resort has to offer, they come back again and again.
“We do a phenomenal repeat business, about 28% repeat,” he said. “We have been around 16 years and we will have some guests coming for their 57th time. Many of our repeat guests come to know our team members here because our staff does not turn over. They stay. So for our guests, it is a more personal experience and they feel like they are coming home — we take care of their needs.”
If you are a home based agent, then Grand Lido wants you as a valued sales partner, Drew said.
“That home based agent is my best customer and I want them to know that they have an ear here — that we want their clients to come back home and tell them, ‘Wow. Thanks for recommending Grand Lido Negril Resort & Spa.’ Our home based agent partners can be sure that their clients are not a one-time deal for us — just as they are not a one-time deal for the agent.”
He invited agents to visit www.superclubs.com and see for themselves just what Grand Lido Negril has to offer.
