Supplement to Travel Trade

Family-owned Enterprise Rent-A-Car, North America’s largest rental car company, is focused on growing its airport presence and relationship with the travel agency community, including the Home Based segment. To show its commitment to travel professionals, Enterprise has introduced a one-of-a-kind partnership program that provides unprecedented flexibility.
The program offers travel agencies the ability to set their own rate and commission structure based on individual business strategies. Enterprise developed its new customizable program with input from travel agencies across the country and with data gathered from industry focus groups.
The program is off to a flying start: Only a few months after its introduction, Enterprise already has enrolled nearly 2,000 agencies.
Enrolling is simple. Provide an ARC, IATA, CLIA or other ID number on Enterprise’s Web site (www.enterprise.com/ta), and select the desired commission plan when filling out the form online. Or call toll-free, (800) 424-1282 to sign up and select the commission.
Home Based travel agencies and Enterprise share common roots that continue to drive their businesses — an entrepreneurial model and a focus on the local community.
It is estimated that more than 50,000 Home Based travel agencies are located throughout the United States, and Enterprise, from its own local business model, recognizes that their needs vary from one to the next. Similarly, Enterprise operates more than 6,500 company-owned locations, and each operates as its own profit center, serving customers as independent, entrepreneurial businesses.
Enterprise has responded to customer demand in neighborhoods by expanding its industry-leading value and legendary customer service to the airport market by increasing the number of on-airport locations at a double-digit pace over the last six years, opening as many as three airport branches a month. Today, Enterprise has more than 200 on-airport locations. In fact, Enterprise has been ranked highest in customer satisfaction in six of the past seven years by J.D. Power & Associates’ Domestic Airport Rental Car Customer Satisfaction Survey and is also recognized as the value provider.
Enterprise’s airport business is geared toward leisure travelers who desire a more personalized brand of service, such as help with luggage, directions, or reviewing features of the automobile. Additionally, Enterprise recently announced a phased national roll-out to make portable in-car navigation (or GPS) devices available by the end of March at its locations at the country’s top 100 airports locations. Cost is $7.95 a day — the lowest rate among national companies.
Founded in 1957, Enterprise-Rent-A-Car is headquartered in St. Louis and has more than 6,500 offices in the United States, Canada, the U.K., Ireland and Germany. Enterprise ranks No. 16 on the Forbes Top 500 Private Companies in America.
