to Vancouver C-A-T

The Host agency American’s Vacation Center is providing complimentary registration to the 24th Annual Travel Trade CRUISE-A-THON, June 2-5, in Vancouver, to all Home Based agents who join the AVC team through Feb. 28.
“It is impossible not to come away from CRUISE-A-THON full of energy and feeling great about the industry,” said Brad Anderson, co-president of America’s Vacation Center, an American Express Travel Services Representative based in Escondido, CA.
“I highly recommend it. I think people should not miss the Vancouver CRUISE-A-THON and that’s why America’s Vacation Center will provide a complimentary registration to anyone who joins our team in February.”
Anderson added that AVC will also bring a team of its affiliates to the Vancouver C-A-T — all will be AVC agents who are each making over $100,000 a year, after their expenses.
“Our team members will be there to learn and to network and share their secrets. It is a great opportunity for all travel agents,” said Anderson.
“I think that CRUISE-A-THON is an incredible venue for agents who thirst and hunger for improvement. They will learn the latest insider secrets from people who are very successful. It will also be a great time not only to see the cruise ships and get first-hand experience with Vancouver, which is fabulous, but also to learn and, especially for Home Based agents, to network.”
Anderson noted, “Seeing people and renewing friendships is also a huge part of CRUISE-A-THON. The informal networking that takes place during these conferences is invaluable. You just can’t place a value on that and C-A-T is an important venue for bringing together like-minded people.”
CRUISE-A-THON conferences, Anderson continued, “are amazing. Agents can acquire a year’s worth of education in four days. And the conference is a lot of fun. Agents work hard, so it is OK to have fun.”
AVC is also working hard to keep up with its referrals, said Anderson. “We are adding one professional a day to our team and yet we still can’t keep up with the referrals we are getting from direct mail, our Web site and advertising.”

The four-day CRUISE-A-THON will be held at the Vancouver Convention & Exhibition Centre. Top cruise industry executives will be among the keynote and featured speakers, including Anderson.
New this year will be the Host Agency Summit Panel, featuring the top executives of the industry’s leading Host Agencies. The panel discussion will followed by individual sessions between ICs and Host agencies.
The educational program will include workshops led by the industry’s leading experts, providing practical, market-tested techniques for success. Seminars will be devoted to marketing, sales skills and using technology tools successfully.
A series of workshops will be focused on Home Based agent issues. And, agents can attend CLIA Training Sessions at the conference.
The Vancouver fleet will also be open for inspections and onboard luncheons, including: RCI’s Serenade of the Seas; Celebrity’s Summit and Infinity; Princess Cruises’ Coral and Sapphire Princess; Holland America’s Ryndam, Statendam and Zuiderdam; and NCL’s Norwegian Wind.
